Q10713 - INFO: Allure throughput

Summary
Allure throughput

Information
When determining the number of concurrent users, there are a couple of factors to consider.  When a request for data is made from the Website, Allure has a 2-part job.

  1. Access the Commence database and perform a filter (which may be simple or complex)
  2. Generate the HTML page.

The first part is a single-threaded process and depends on how complex the filter is.  The second part is a multi-threaded process and depends on the Web server.  To determine the number of hits per hour that Allure can handle, we estimate that is in the range of about 3000 to 5000.  This estimate is based on standard Web server hardware, using simple filters against the Commence database.
