Q10351 - ERRMSG: Allure error code 141 (0x8d) Could not launch the Allure database.

Problem
I've followed the installation steps for IIS users and also modified the registry as indicated in the Allure User Guide PDF but I still have an error Allure error code 141 (0x8d) Could not launch the Allure database.

Cause
This error is reported when the ALLURE.DB object cannot be created.

Solution

  1. Verify that the database noted in the ICC files is the same as the Allure database name. By default, this database is called,  "Internet Workgroup Database".
  2. Ensure that Allure is open/running and registered with the operating system. You can verify that ALLURE.DB exists in the registry under HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT.
  3. A common cause for not being able to create ALLURE.DB is due to D/COM permissions. Instructions for configuring security are covered in the Allure user guide.
